Sampson - Lake Rowell

Went sat. to see how things were looking. Got there at 6:30 noticed the water is way down. Went to Rowell and got on a good bite, they were schooling in the 5 to 6 foot range. Caught some on fluke and on rage tail space monkey both in watermelon red. The 4 fish we caught while doing that were in the 2 1/2 to 3 lbs range all were towards the  the stumps off the main point coming out. Good day for only about 3 hours. Did miss on in the creek going to Rowell

Sampson - Lake Rowell

Fished Sampson and Rowell on Saturday. Rowell was pretty muddy and didn't catch anything in there. Water in Sampson looked much better but the bite was tough. Wound up catching 4 small bass, three on flukes and one on a speed worm. Fished inside the grass line and outside. The few fish we caught came from outside edge of the grass. Water temps were 60-61. 20-30 mph winds w/ 40 mph gust had Sampson sturred up pretty good!

classic today safe light till 3 five boats there was four fish caught & weighed in. It really sucked for a classic water was really cold, but the frog payed off in rowell w/a 7-12 & that's all he needed to take the money. What a tough day!

Sampson - Lake Rowell

Me and basscat went out today from 10am til 330pm and caught 15 to 18 fish we cramed the champion under the trussel and fished the canal and caught 4 or 5 on texas riged speed worms and then we fished the alligator creek and caught 4 more then we went to sampson and 3 pipes canal and fished the canal and caught an few more fish . the water was down to 55 deg  and basscat broke out his frog rod to see how long i could hold out and after he caught the 3 fish on an horney toad in 55deg water I had to start throwing it.  all fish were caught on watermelon red and junebug , got to try some of the new pursuite shad and caught my 2 biggest fish on them I like them will order some soon, biggest fish was around 3.5 lb but we had 3 or 4 around that weight   good day at sampson .

Sampson - Lake Rowell

We had a club tourny out there today. It took 16 pounds to win, he had big fish of a little over 7, 2nd was 14 pounds, he had a 6 and a half. I came in 3rd with just shy of 13. I was the only boat in rowell almost all day. I caught all of my fish on 1/4 Stike king red eyes in sexy shad or on prism jerk baits. My partner came in 5th with 3 fish going almost 9, he had a 5 pounder. 1st and 2nd fish most of the day in the north west corner of Sampson using prism jerk baits. Both myself and my partner both hooked into huge fish we could not turn, his took his trap and mine bent out 2 treble hooks on a jerk bait. It was a good day all in all and the fish bit well even witht the bad rain, wind and cold.

Sampson - Lake Rowell

johnathon and i opted to go to sampson this afternoon cause oflack of time.we got there at about 2:15 and fished till dark about 6p.m. the wind was about 12mph w/ a good chop on the water. the water has come up almost a ft. since we were there at the fbn tx.we started out in grass at about 6' and i caught one 13'' er on a 1/4 oz. c-rig.johnathon missed a couple on a small swimbait.i had a couple taps but couldnt hook up.we moved a little deeper and i caught 3 on the rig two of them small keepwers.we moved to the eel grass on the s.end in 4+' water and i caught one maybe a keeper .at 5:30 i made the last move and it was the right one. throwing jerk baits in scattered grass i caught a 3+ and johnathon got 2 2 1/2 lbers.in about 20min.right around 10 lbs. for 5 keepers.
