Got out yesterday afternoon, had to try the cane pole thing.  ended up with six and two warmouth.  everything was caught dipping flukes in pads or sticks on canepole.  It was fun i have to say that. and a completely new experience.

Hit the old ferry road boat ramp about 7am today (jaxjay73 couldnt get the lead out of his... after fishing whiteys with me lastnight)  Ran north past the tressel a bit and fished the first cut to the right after it.  First fish of the day was a solid 2 pounds.  Biggest fish of the day too.  started just working the bank for a while and would pick one up here and there.  Managed 16 bass 1 warmouth and a gator about a footlong had jasons fluke on his mouth just behend the hook and would not let go for anything.  We had his dangling 4 foot over the water taking pictures and this little reptile would not let go.  Ill post a picture as soon as he emails it to me. It was pretty funny.

Fished FBN Club sat with Jason (FiveHawgs).  His prefishing payed off and as he said we had a limit early.  Unfortunately, i lost the 2nd fish of the day by being careless and letting it get me into the pads and pull off.  It was in 4-5 pound range.  After we got our limit we just couldnt get anything to cull with.  I jokingly said we would go back to ramp at 10 if we had our limit and we should have since nothing changed the rest of the day.  Good group of fisherman in this club.  By the way,  they aint no fish in BC. :)

fished the fbn sat. and was fortunate to post a win.i know nothing about fishing n. of green cove. my partner has some knowledge and previous tx. experiences.he had went and pre-fished a couple weeks earlier.and although he caught fish was not impressed w/ the weights we were lookin at.we both knew if we went s. we would have better knowledge of tryin to catch over 10 lbs. which was our goal.from thr recent reports and the tnt's we felt it was going to take that to win.especially w/ you local ringers ,tony, jason, daniel, brooks and probably a few more we dont know.so we rolled the dice and ran south untill we found some water we could flip and fish over submerged grass.zack flipped up the first fish a small keeper at 7:35 and we had our limit by 8:30.i was throwin a speed worm over submerged grass and added 3 small keepers and at 10:45 zack flipped up our last upgrade and fish of the day.we wound up w/ 5 cookie cutter 2 1/4 to 2 3/4 fish for 12.42.we ran back to the creek and finished out flippin some areas that didnt produce us a bite.we feel real fortunate to win as we werent likin this venue at all.

Fished our FBN Tx yesterday. Me and andy ran up in the creek and started throwing frogs and other topwater around some pads and docks. Andy caught are first fish on his 3rd cast on a frog.We got a few more hits from their but didn't get anything going again intill after 12:00.We never had been here and didn't get to prefish any so really didn't know where to go..We fished the river like we do back home on the st.marys river but it was to late when we started putting things together..We went into a shallow feeder creek off the river and i caught six more with only 1 being a keeper..Had a good time! wish the ski boats weren't so bad. congrats to the winners

Fished our FBN Tournament yesterday. Austin and I had a pretty decent day. We ran a little south and started throwing the frog a bit and started getting a few blow ups here and there. We marked every blow up mentally, came back after we fished that bank and flipped a worm in and caught the fish. We moved a little more south and ran into a creek looking for shade. We caught most all of our fish on laydowns flipping in speedworms and Billy Sticks (Pursuit Baits). Once the sun got up good and the water started moving again we moved a little more south and fished some docks where we were able to upgrade on the first dock!! On the way back to the ramp we swung by a creek we caught them earlier and caught a 3 1/2 pounder. We all know the river has been tough so 11 1/2 pounds we were happy to bring to the scales. It was a fun day and like Jason said if your looking to fish a tournament come on out next month we will be at Lochloosa.

Black Creek

Someone tell me I am an idiot for trying to fish black creek on a Saturday afternoon.  Wow, what a waste of time that was.  Every moron with a boat and a ski rope was out there pulling someone on something, and some of them didn't even have ski ropes. I swear I saw one guy getting pulled by what looked like a garden hose.

Now for the fishing, IT SUCKED. And really thats all I can say.  We got sloshed around by boat wake on the first brush pile i tried to fish, then we headed to the mouth of little Black creek and got stormed on for a hour.  After the rain I figured things would look up.  Couldn't be more wrong.  Not five minutes after the lightning got a good distance away were the yokals bathing in the crick again.  Managed only two bass, both small.  And a dozen or so warmouth.  Someone remind me that Black creek on a hot weekend is a terrible idea next time i think about it.  I need to stick to fishing in the middle of the week.

Give a man a fish, feed him for a day.  Teach a man to fish, and he leaves you the hell alone.

Black Creek

put in at the old ferry road boat ramp about 5:30.  took a buddy of mine who is in the middle of a divorce right now.  It was good to get his mind off things for a few hours.

I think I was channeling my inner Jerry today, first stop I must have caught a dozen warmouth.  Then ran to a hole I know has a good number of fish but nothing really big in it, or so I thought.  Managed seven with one being my new big fish for the year. 4.31 beat the previous fish by one ounce.

All together seven bass smallest being 1.25, a dozen or so warmouth and a three pound mudder.

Give a man a fish, feed him for a day.  Teach a man to fish, and he leaves you the hell alone.
