He is a machine and believe it or not he has a great personality not cocky at all and down to earth.

Keep kids involved in our great sport..

got to interview him at the classic and he's a great guy.  he could easily be cocky but remains humble and hardworking.

he was really down to earth and his focus and mental toughness are what make him so good.

if you watched the classic, you'll realize that he was fishing an area that was behind a bridge and when the spectators piled in there around the bridge it made it almost impossible for competitors to see back there or even consider fishing back there.  having that area to himself was why he won... in his post tourny interview he made a comment about how much the crowd helped him.

what i think is amazing is, as much as he fishes crankbaits, he does not have any joint issues. if i fished two days as fast and hard as he does, i would not be able to move my arms. some of the guys you see on tour will have an armband for tendonitis. i have never seen one on him. he truly is a machine.  i respect the fact that he is the best but, i would really like to see somebody like kriet beat him.

a little juicy tidbit about him, i hear from a very reliable source. he is sponsored by anheiser busch and every tournament a delivery truck pulls up to where he is staying and delivers 20+ cases of beer. i hear he is quiet the alcoholic. i even heard at last years amistad tournament, he got so drunk after day one, he urinated on the inside of his truck, while he was attempted to relieve himself on the outside of the truck. appearently that was his worst finish of the year. 44TH GO FIGURE. i really dont know if i could finish 44th stone cold sober. lol

You got to give it to the guy, He's the best out there. I don't know if he drinks or not ,but He's going to drive the rest of them to drinking if He keeps beating up on them!

Yeah He's OK....LOL  I would love to spend one day on the water with him, during a practice....  Just to see what his mind is doing to break down the lake.  He's the best out there right now for sure.

I think he is the best if based on nothing else but his performance.  He can catch fish on any water, in any condition, using any lure.  He was once known for being an expert spinnerbait fisherman and nothing else but I think he has proven over time that it doesn't matter what he has to use, he can catch them.  I would say that a jig is his weak link, but he would probably flip a rattletrap into the mat and catch a 7 pounder.  I find it hard to believe that juicy tidbit about him having a drinking problem.  Sounds fishy to me.

I have nothing but the highest respect for the man !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And as far as cranking all day and arm damage -- I can still [ at age 68 ] crank from daylight to dark -- go home , take two Tylenol and be ready for the same thing ther next day .. Just takes a little getting  use to it .

He really is a machine if he can drink 20+ cases of beer and still stand up to urinate in his truck.Plus even fish a tx the next day.

I wouldnt always believe everything I hear even if it is a "reliable source". Normally when someone has a serious drinking problem their career starts to show it and starts to decline....no sign of that anywhere in sight. A lot of times when someone is doing great or winning constantly at whatever they do people start to look for imperfections and the jealous ones make up whatever they can about that person. No offense to the "reliable source". Maybe his source wasn't so reliable.

I agree speedworm, Tim Tebow is a prime example. Some of the media was looking for him to do anything wrong so they jump on it. And it was because he was such a good guy on and off the field.

I'll second that garry. If he can drink 20 cases and still stand up then KVD really is the man.lol.

By the way I'm not really a fan of KVD or anything so don't think I am just trying to defend him because I like him. I am just stating my opinion on the matter. For all I know it could be true but I really doubt it. Some how I just don't see some one who is that focused on his career letting alcohol interfere. And I would be interested to know if he really is sponsored by anheiser busch or however you spell it.

And your exactly right Danny. Tim Tebow is a prime example. Just like with KVD I am not a huge fan or anything but Tebow does not deserve any of the criticism he recieves. Its funny how the media seems to attack anyone with any sense of morals or beliefs.
